I just got in for repair 2 french horns which I think are from China. The name on the horns is "Paul Eastman". The rotors and slides are frozen. The last horn, like these, I got in for repair had very poorly fitting rotors and caused a lot of problems.

Is anyone getting many of these horns for repair? Are you having problems with the rotors?

Ron, there are poor Eastmans and there are better ones. The ones they make lately are not too bad. The older the horn, the worse the rotors.

Walt Lawson lapped in the rotors on one of these about a year and half ago for Kendall Betts (current owner of Lawson Brass Instruments), and it didn't turn out too badly. It all depends on the vintage of the horn.
