I've heard the subject come up occasionally at the Tech conferences. The basic idea is if you lacquer the horn while slowly rotating it in a motor driven fixture, you can virually eliminate the risk of runs. Granted an experienced sprayer can manage without, but the situation I end up in is long intervals between lacquer jobs so I'm usually out of practice. That makes me reluctant to take on the job. A few seconds inattention can mean a whole lot more work. I don't think a rig like this is available ready made. Looks like a good project. I'm guessing a good rotation rate would be around 5 rpm or so.

Everyone with experience or comments on this technique?
