I recently got a brand new blessing B-88 in that had slide problems right out of the box.  The slide was full of honing compound that hadn't been used.  Not a hard fix, but I'm wondering if this is isolated or if anyone else is experiencing problems with horns coming from the factory improperly set up.

I don't have experience with that instrument, but I have seen lots of new instruments lately that retain metal shavings (Bach Strad trumpets!), polishing compound, and other such things.

I don't buy the whiney line that I've gotten, "Well the EPA won't let us use the old vapor degreasing methods anymore so our cleaning can't be as good as it used to be." Hooey. Why does one instrument come through clean and the next dirty? QC, just as your subject line suggests. US manufacturers are struggling to remain viable in today's market. Something's gotta go, and QC is one of the first things, IMO.
